blog 3: web 2.0, interactive trading

Technology is very fast changing. before, it only allows users to retrieve information, but now, with the new application, web 2.0, users can now interact with other users. for information sharing, collaboration, social and business connection, etc on the world wide web.

examples of 2.0 (web based community) are social- networking sites, video-sharing sites and blogs.

the features in this web 2.0 are better than those of the web 1.0. like for example, from DoubleClick to GoogleAdsense, from Ofoto to Flickr, from AkamaiBittorrent etc.

It is easier now to market on 2.0 because the web technologies is offering richer and more interactive methods for midsize businesses.

compared to the traditional way of online marketing for businesses, web 2.0 is more flexible and affordable for small companies.

another is that the advertisement through social networking sites and blogs should always be updated, in this case, the marketer is also updated on what is new in his field.

and, the service of tracking the customers' behavior via web made the task of measuring the results simple.

marketers now use web 2.0 as a tool for them and for their customers to collaborate on product development, service enhancement and promotions.

marketers should let consumers invite other consumers to try their product/service. another is that, marketers should give consumers a reason to participate, like money/product rewards. marketers should also listen, or sometimes join on the conversations about the company outside their site. because people might be saying different things outside their site. they should be open, even if it is positive or negative. maybe they should improve or develop their products, or something like those.

marketers should not just sell things anywhere and anytime they want as long as there is a customer. as a marketer, they should listen to their customers' ideas, because they are not only an audience of their advertisement, but without them, the company will be nothing.

let all the consumers talk about what they want for the marketer's product. it will help them to improve and to gain more customers.

marketers should be open to take risks and to new things.

for more information about marketing on web 2.0, you can visit, the secrets of marketing in a web 2.0 world.

in this case marketers should have an affiliate in endorsing their sites/products. in order for them to gain more customers that do not know the site. this will also help them by letting people be aware of the site.

people are also, (always) searching using google or yahoo, just make sure that the site will come out if a keyword that is related to their product will be typed. so that, there is a great possibility that consumers to visit the site.

With the new technology, it is easier for marketers to sell their product/service. but it is also easier for consumers to purchase products, so the competition is still as it was before. so, strategy is still a big factor.

blog 2: digital marketing research and planning; partners in crime

Digital marketing research, and planning is very important in doing digimarketing. as i read the book of digimarketing, it says that without these two, doing digimar
keting is not quite possible.

Research is the foundation of all studies. Without this, you cannot go with the new trends in different fields.

There is even a site about having an international workshop in order for practitioners
and experts to have a meeting and talk about the new researches about digital marketing.

but there are
sites too that do not really focus on the experts, they also give trainings and other stuff for the newbies.

marketing research and planning are partners, without the other, it will be impossible to implement the other.

according to the book, if you really researched on things, and collected all the data, but did not implement the planning of what will you do with them, it is not really going to be successful. planning is what you should do first to make us of your data. you should
first plan on what will you do with your collected data. like for example, in the registrations to become a member of a site, customer will put information about him/her. some customers do not like long registration process, so before making that step, you should first make sure that the information that the customer will put is important. like for example, you really don't need to know if the customer is married or not, so why should you put that part in your registration, something like that.

one of the sites that i have read, said that there are steps in making a digital plan. first you should decide first on what is your goal in doing that kind of marketing so that you will know on where you are going.. and the last step is that be patient, because doing digital marketing takes time.

so, without this two, digital marketing and research planning, your digital marketing will be impossible. the two are always together.
